To issue certificates through GlobalSign Atlas you must add and validate a domain.

To add a new domain:

  1. In CIT, go to the GlobalSign Atlas page.
  2. Click Domains.
  3. Chose the GlobalSign Atlas account that you want to associate the new domain.
  4. Click Add Domain.
  5. Enter your domain name and click Add.
  6. You have now submitted a claim to Atlas to validate the domain.
    You may validate the domain at this point, or do it later.
  7. The domain will display in domains list page.
    Click a row entry to view log information.
    Click a row entry action button to either delete a domain or start the verification process.

After you click Verify you can select one of three validation methods.

Email Domain Validation

  1. Select an authorized email address where the verification email will be sent.
  2. Click Send Verification Email.
    Log entries will display indicating the validation email was successfully sent.
  3. Go to your inbox and check for the verification email.
  4. Click the link in the verification email and then click "Approve" on the opened page.
  5. Go back to CIT and you will see that your domain has been successfully validated.

DNS Domain Validation

  1. Copy the provided DNS claim token.
    The token will be valid for 30 days after creation, after which a new token will be generated.
  2. Go to the DNS Manager of the website where the certificate will be installed.
  3. Add a new DNS TXT record.
    The Host should be the selected domain name from the previous step.
    The Value should be the DNS claim token copied from the previous step.
  4. Go back to CIT and click Verify.
    Note that for some DNS providers it make take up to several hours for the DNS records to be updated.
  5. Log entries will display indicating the status of the verification process.
    If the verification result is not successful, click Verify again after several minutes.
  6. Once GlobalSign Atlas APIs are able to view the required TXT DNS entry, your domain will be verified.

HTTP Domain Validation

  1. Select which protocol your current website uses.
  2. Download the gsdv.txt file.
    This file contains the domain claim token.
    The token will be valid for 30 days after creation, after which a new token will be generated.
  3. Go to your webserver and upload the gsdv.txt file to your website to this location: (/.well-known/pki-validation/gsdv.txt)
  4. Copy the location and verify the gsdv.txt file is downloadable at the specified URL.
  5. Go back to CIT and click Verify.
  6. Log entries will display indicating the status of the verification process.
  7. Once GlobalSign Atlas APIs are able to view the required token, your domain will be verified.
